Airports and ports with road distances measured from the house, ferries and flights from Malta, buses and practical tips. Schedules change: always check the operators before you book.

Airports and ports

Measured from the house to the terminal itself (not the town centre) with routing on OpenStreetMap data on 13/10/2026; times exclude traffic, check-in and parking.

Comiso “Pio La Torre” Airport (CIY) Official website · Directions	29 km	≈ 40 min	The airport closest to the house. Car-hire desks on the ground floor in Arrivals (SBC, Avis, Sicily Rent Car); cars are collected in car park A.
Pozzallo ferry terminal (Virtu Ferries) Official website · Directions	35 km	≈ 50 min	Port of Pozzallo. Virtu Ferries ticket office: Largo dei Vespri Siciliani 70, tel. +39 0932 811811; departures office at the port opens 2 hours before sailing.
Marina di Ragusa port (Ragusa Xpress catamaran) Official website · Directions	4.4 km	≈ 7 min	The closest port to the house, for the catamaran to and from Valletta.

From Malta by sea

Virtu Ferries · Malta – Pozzallo

Crossing time: 1 h 45 min. Sailings every day in the published timetable (12–26 October 2026), typically two or three departures a day from Malta.
Vehicles: cars up to 5 m, campervans up to 7 m, motorbikes and bicycles (bicycles free with booking).
Check-in: foot passengers at least 1 hour before departure, with a vehicle 90 minutes before.
From Pozzallo to the house: about 35 km by road (≈50 min).

Ragusa Xpress · Valletta – Marina di Ragusa

Crossing time: about 2 hours. Timetable valid 2 October 2026 – 4 January 2027: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, one sailing in each direction per day, with special dates and some days without service.
Vehicles: private vehicles under 2.2 m high and up to 5.8 m long, maximum 3 t; no trailers or commercial vehicles.
Check-in: passengers 1 hour before, vehicles 90 minutes before; closes 30 minutes before departure. A valid passport or identity card is required.
From the port of Marina di Ragusa to the house: about 4.4 km (≈7 min by car).

Flights between Malta and Sicily

Malta – Catania

KM Malta Airlines operated Malta–Catania in the summer 2026 season, from 30 April to 24 October 2026, with seven weekly flights according to its official announcement. No winter 2026-27 service has been announced on the airline’s channels as of 13/10/2026.

Ryanair (operated by Malta Air) also flies Malta–Catania; we could not confirm an official weekly frequency, so please check the airline’s calendar for your dates.

Comiso – Malta Announced

A Comiso–Malta link with two weekly frequencies has been announced as part of the regionally supported programme starting 25 October 2026, to be operated by Aeroitalia according to the press. As of 13/10/2026 the route does not appear on the airline’s website and tickets do not appear to be on sale: check before planning.

We do not publish average daily frequencies: the number of flights varies by day and season. Check the official calendars.

Buses and public transport

Tumino line Ragusa – Marina di Ragusa – Punta Secca – Santa Croce Camerina: the “Casuzze” stop is about 600 m from the house (≈8 min on foot). The timetable valid from 6 October lists 14 passages in each direction, some only on certain days (weekdays, Monday–Friday or Saturday); on Sundays and public holidays only the runs marked “daily” operate.
From Catania airport there is no direct public service to Casuzze: at least one change is needed (bus to Ragusa or Marina di Ragusa, then the Tumino line). A taxi or transfer is usually the simplest option with luggage.
No dedicated shuttle between Comiso airport and Marina di Ragusa was found on official sources: plan a hire car, taxi or transfer.
A car is strongly recommended for daily life in the area.
